Roland Kator

Roland Kator entered the construction industry after spending 17 years in the hospitality field, working his way up to Executive Chef, General Manager and then ultimately Director of Operations. He says, "What drew me to the construction industry was the ability to cross utilize my skillset sharpened in the hospitality field of relationship building, passion for getting things done with precision and being client-minded." Now that he's in the construction industry, his favorite thing about his career is being able to see the full process through. From initial client conversations, to drawings, to groundbreaking and ultimately the turnover of the building.

He was drawn to joining RSD Construction because of the culture and the like mindedness of the team in wanting to provide the best, be good people and wanting to build lasting relationships. “My favorite thing about working at RSD is that no matter how busy everyone is, they are always willing and ready to help each other think through any situation.”

Roland believes the most important thing he brings to RSD is the ability to make and sustain lasting relationships that are mutually beneficial and as far away from transactional as possible. The RSD culture supports him in being able to sustain relationships by the team working so diligently to keep their word, ensuring schedules are tight but thought out, budgets are accurate and met and speak the same voice from the same thought.

When he's not spending time building client relationships, you can find Roland spending time with his wife and three children (plus their dog, Piper, and two fish) who keep them busy with sports and arts activities.
